Jacqueline Fernandez was born in Manama and raised by the multiracial, mixed-ethnic family. The father of Jacqueline, Elroy Fernandez, is Sri Lankan. There are two brothers as well as one older sister. She was born and raised in Bahrain. Her parents relocated to Bahrain in the 80s as a result of the turmoil within Sri Lanka. After her schooling in Bahrain her family was granted a Scholarship to study at the University of Sydney, where she pursued a master's degree with a major in Media and Communications in Sydney, Australia. To further develop her passion for different cultures, languages and languages, she joined the Berlitz language schools in which she could learn Spanish and also improve her French as well as Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March 2006. She also competed as Miss Universe 2006 also. After her winning the 2006 Miss Sri Lanka win, Padukone stepped into the world of television as host of a TV show on Sri Lankan business called Lanka Business Report. Padukone had the honor of being a daughter of badminton champion Prakash Padukone. Padukone grew up in Bangalore however, she was born in Copenhagen. As a teenager she competed at the national badminton tournaments level. She later quit the sport to pursue a career as designer. Padukone is a native of Mangalore, Indian. Her native language Konkani is her origin. Her ancestors hail from the village of Padukone located in Kundapura Taluk, in the Udupi district in Karnataka state in India. Prakash Padukone is her father and was a badminton player who has international acclaim. Her mother is a travel agent.
